Over the weekend I decided to reorganize my office. It had really become an anxiety cave because 2020 and 2021, and so moving furniture around and also reorganizing my books and such was actually super soothing. I had a splendiferous birthday weekend. I took Friday off and went to go get a haircut for the first time in a year and a half; I ditched about six inches or so and the summer air is so much more bearable. I also went for a dark purple to compensate for a year spent as a salt-and-pepper hedgewitch!

This year I am thankful for: Rogue translators, mail-in ballots, and Instacart.

I baked brownies, and I roasted sweet potatoes that I will mix with ricotta and flour later to make gnocchi.

I'm looking at my favorite cooking blogs; I think this weekend I'll make harrisa roasted chicken and then borscht to start us off next week...

I have so much to do. I do this to myself, really, but. I am so tired. So, so tired.

Everything will get done, somehow.

But I would like to sleep, lots.

Things that have to/will happen in the next four weeks:

- A completed article draft (two weeks)
- A workshop I'm co-teaching (two weeks)
- An online lecture I'm co-giving (four weeks) that currently has 286 people registered and 1,180 "interested" people on Facebook.

I bought some books tonight as my form of retail therapy--there were sales on, which helped, and titles that I had long coveted for my personal use, and also I want to do my part to help university presses.  At least according to the state/university, which is why, despite the governor ordering a shelter-in-place across the state yesterday, I still have to go to work three times a week.*

*Albeit briefly, to check on security etc., and we're still closed to the public.

So rather unexpectedly, my state and uni are being sensible and made the decision last week to close things down effective Friday. My unit is going to have reduced public hours this week, and after that we are closed to the public until further notice.
